If you ever go the azzurri store in italy they have a DVD with all the azzurri’s most famous matches with good old rai commentary in ‘em, they’re pretty fun. My favorite is the italy netherlands Penalty shootout, good stuff, ale toldone!!!

btw whatever happened to giuseppe rossi? The guy has vanished since the confed cup, anyone know what happened to him?

There are rumors that FIGC have signed a deal with Massimiliano Allegri to be the next Azzurri Coach.
If that so, that means a new sparkling look for Italia squad and play. I support such move.

Although I wouldn’t be opposed to Allegri, I reckon he’s not the greatest at defence. Although our team would exhibit (potentially) unparalleled offensive prowess, our defence my indeed suffer. Hopefully he holds no allegiances to oldies like zambrotta, cannavaro, grosso, gattuso and overrated foreign talent like amauri.

back to amauri for a second, the media attention surrounding this guy and lippi’s media responses suggest this idiot is a shoe in for an azzurri spot. That would be very disappointing indeed.

Rossi’s had a rough year. His father passed away a few months ago which kept him from playing for a while. He’s come back quite strongly and has a few goals/assists since then.

I love Rivera’s winning goal. So simple yet took so much skill and technique.

Rossi and Amauri can both come over my place to watch the world cup since neither should have any buisness going to SA. As for Quags’ father complaining that his son should not be overlooked for Amauri…..don’t worry because he better be overlooked for Pazzini and about 6 other people. I have a bad feeling lippi might leave the Samp striker behind which would be a total shame.

There is an article on Goal.com saying that Christian Zaccardo is hoping to make the national team. I have not followed him at Parma and was wondering if any one can shed some light on his play. The article seems to suggest he has had a great year. I know he is only like 27 and with Santon hurt I was wondering if you guys think he should make the team. I have to be honest in that I have no idea how he has played but maybe he could be a better option than Zambro and Grosso. You know Lippi must be following him since he liked him enough to include him in 2006. I also don’t think we should hold that own goal against him 4 years later.

ya i wouldnt mind seein zaccardo back, i always kinda liked him, even after he scored the own goal, he made 3 appearances in the world cup 2006, so obviously lippi trusted him sumwat, since then he’s won the bundesliga with wolfsburg and been reltaively well at parma (he has 4 goals with them this season, which is pretty good for a defender), plus he has international experience and is 28 years old, which is a prime age for a defender. he was only 24 last world cup and that was his first major tournament so he was proly really nervous in germany 4 years ago. Now he’s the perfect age and maturity, and playss almost every game for parma so he’s gettin back into form and he’s keepin it.

oh shit thats rough, poor guy, I wish he would come back and play in Serie A, of all the italian players that have gone abroad he is the one that the Serie A needs back the most. I liked watching him play when he was at parma, good player, I have a feeling that Macheda will eventually follow in his footsteps and leave man united, macheda has the potential to be a way better player at man u than guys like owen and berbatov, owen’s glory days are over and berbatov is the most overrated striker in the world after amauri, macheda should return to serie a though, I feel like the premier league has developed a habit of taking our best and brightest players and ruining them completely.
