Habemus ‘Co-Blogger’ ~ We Have a Co-Blogger!

As you may have guessed from the ominous title, I have been selected by Julian as the next co-blogger. If you don’t already know, I’ve frequented this blog for a couple of years now, I have always found that this is the best place on the internet to voice your concerns, displeasure, and happiness for the Azzurri and the state of affairs within. Also, on occasion, I’ve noticed that some of the contributors here have been quicker than the media at reporting Late Breaking Azzurri News!

The Vacant Seat of 'Paul'

The Vacant Seat of 'Paul'

As a quick background check, I am Italian (by birth, association, and citizenship). I do currently reside in Canada where tragically, the Canucks are more concerned about Hockey than the Beautiful Game. However that may be changing with the mediocrity of Toronto FC in the MLS.

As part of my Resume on Calcio, I am a regular ‘watcher’ of Serie A, a Juventino by blood (although some try desperately to refute such an auspicious association). In addition to watching, I do frequent the pitch as both player and coach. I find the tactical aspect of the sport the single most entertaining aspect of the game. This is actually why I hardly watch the English Premiere or La Liga. Watching Chelsea or Real Madrid bamboozle a minnow isn’t entertaining. Whereas in Serie A, you are never guaranteed an easy result… Ask Roma and Milan when they played Cesena.

I look forward to the task at hand, it’ll be a pleasure working alongside Julian and expressing my view points on the Azzurri, player selections, Serie A, and the state of Calcio in general.

As a concluding footnote, Mo_dudes, if DeRossi continues to show the form he’s been demonstrating thus far, expect ample criticism ;)

Let’s get onto Euro2012 Qualifiers: Up next, a Preview for Tomorrow’s Match.

Awesome Marco! I've always enjoyed your comments and I too am a total tactics nerd!!! Bring it on!

  • http://italy.worldcupblog.org Julian

Welcome aboard buddy! I'm quite excited to have you here. Ugh, if only I had known you were a Juventino… and before I get angry emails and comments, I'm 100% kidding and never once asked Marco what team he supported.

  • agiamba

    I still have my doubts…

  • agiamba

Welcome, Marco. I disagree with you 99% of the time, but I'm glad you're on board, it's good to have different opinions around.

  • dweb

wait a second, ANOTHER juventus-nazionale connection? this is starting to get ridiculous!

all joking aside, welcome marco and thank you in advance. cheers to keeping the offside as my homepage!

  • rosay

ey marco, i'm in canada too! but was born here, but got my italian citizenship through my dad, my moms chinese though lol. I've been followin this blog since early 2006 and come here at least once a day when i ave the time. I've read alot of ur posts on la nazionale blog and could tell rite away that u were a juventino and i think ur a excellent choice as a co-blogger with julian, even though i'm a milanista haa! anyway i look forward on reading alot of ur stuff as ur posts always showed that u were an intelligent, passionate, yet critical follower of la squadra. ezzzzz

  • Marco

Thank you all for the kind remarks. I assure you I won't let the 'Juventino' in me dictate my criticisms. I'm sure you've all seen/read/commented on my past critiques on Lippi, Del Piero, Marchisio – heck, I've even knocked Chiellini around. I'll do my best to keep everything as objective as possible. ;)

  • Juan Montoya Novielli

    Benvenuti! MArco!!!!

    Forza Azurri Forza JUVE!!!

  • KJ

ugh, at least not another romanista…

  • http://juventus.theoffside.com roberto

    Pantanella? Welcome aboard.

  • agiamba

    Nope, different one.

  • http://www.mcalcio.com Marco P.

Different one roberto. :) Marco is the best one of the most popular names in Italy. Hence I'll always keep my “P.” to avoid confusion.

Funny though that like me, this Marco also is a Juventino (”or so he says” would agiamba point out :P ).

  • http://juventus.theoffside.com roberto

    Got it, the P., right.

  • Gio

    good pick, Julian.

i have often agreed with Marco's opinions despite his being a Juventino and my being a Romanista. even the ones i do not agree with are pretty objective and interesting.

looking forward to reading your posts.
