One More Callup
Now that Italy are qualified for Euros next year, we decided to actually bring on some decent bloggers. Certainly you can see that the bar has been raised since announcing Gadsby last week. But today I would like to announce that we have acquired the services of yet another amazing blogger.

Yes, to help cover our fabulous undefeated-in-qualifying-team, we have called up the amazing Sam to join our fabulous team of bloggers. Sam is very knowledgeable about Italian football and a very passionate fan of the Azzurri. He is a fantastic writer, and currently writes for Forza Italian Football. He’s also got a great sense of humor, so should fit in quite nicely around here.
I am going to let him introduce himself shortly, but for those of you who doubt our selection, I like to compare it to the Lippi-Prandelli eras. Well, the 2nd Lippi era to be precise. Remember when Lippi refused to call up that player from Bari that everyone loved? You know the cause of the great pitch invader? There were a lot of great players on the team, but we crashed and burned in South Africa.
In comes Prandelli, first thing he does is call up Cassano, and except for a couple of friendlies, we’ve been winning ever since. That is like calling up Sam to our team. He is our Cassano. He will score goals and create chances for everyone else, too. Between him and our new incarnation of Pazzini in our very own Gadsby, this blog is going to be the biggest offensive threat you have ever seen. (ummm… that’s offensive as in ‘attacking style of play’, not as in ‘intending to offend’.)
So please join me in giving a hearty welcome to Sam. I think you will find he is already a world class blogger and a fantastic addition to our Azzurri team.
You can follow Sam on Twitter just like opposing defenders follow Cassano as he scores @SamCalcio
