Hopefuly he has a speedy recovery like Totti and makes it to the second game.
Italy is strong enough to cope without him though.

I disagree Jules. Zambrotta is the most important player in the team after Buffon. He’s not only a solid defender but also very good down the wings. He’s fast and efficient, and really does seem to be the backbone of the Italian team at times.

Missing Zambrotta will be huge for Italy..His runs on the left are one important attacking option for Italy…Without him, most of Italy’s attacking options will have to come from Totti, unless Del Piero is used somehow on the left wing..

I couldn’t agree with Akbar and Neo more! As I said earlier today (prior to learning that he’d be out):

“I think Zambrotta ranks right up in there with Totti and Toni in terms of indispensability.”

This is a big loss. Hopefully it’ll be limited to the first two games.

ya zambrotta is crucial to this team. but its more likely he will only miss the ghana game and will likely be back for the USA game.
