I’m glad to see Lippi back. The Don never seemed sure of himself in his tactics and worse was slow to change when things weren’t working out. He obviously took over at a very difficult time and had pretty big shoes to fill and bigger expectations after Italy had just won the world cup.

I thought Italy played a beautiful game in 2006. They played true Total football, from goal to strikers always playing as a team and showing no weakness in any area Remember there where I believe 9 different goal scorer’s for Italy and only two goal allowed, one own goal and PK…..beautiful.

Watching them in the Euro was painful. They just couldn’t get it together. Hopefully we will see in 2010 the same game they played in 2006, even if they don’t win I enjoyed watching them.

Congratulations again to Spain on their win, to bad we can’t show the same respect to fellow bloggers as our teams do on and off the field…respect and sportsmanship like Buffon and Casillas showed prior to the PKs.

Porchetta you are OD with then comments kid, im guessing a spaniard stole your girlfriend from you. But anyways as for soccer –Spain is extremly overrated at the moment i have to say, they are not better than Brazil,Argentina,Italy in my eyes. I think my point will be proven next world cup. Also i have a suscpision that the USA might make it to the quaters next WC…Italia to the semi’s hopefully win back 2 back 5 cups.

Porky dear,

keep on sizzling. Probably you are ain truth a self-hating Sizzylian …

My university friends are considering changing their topic from “Interrelationships between racism and mental deprivation with special emphasis on Italian sub-species” into ” … deprivation: the famous porchetta case”.

But they can handle it only if you produce more. Pretty sure you can’t resist, eh !?

well I decided to report these racist remarks and get the comments deleted as well as the poster banned.

This is absolutely out of order and has no place on a football blog

You´re indeed a disgrace for Italy but at least i take heart that italians are not assroles as you are. But i think for us, decent man, to be the bigger man and walk way as we cannot change Porchetta. There are people like him that is beyond save. He´s just UNSAVORY.

Porcellino mio, stop telling everyone about our incestuous relationship and, most of all, stop calling me your “girlfriend” over the internet. people will start to think we are wierd. Instead, tell them about the bedtime stories i used to tell you when i put you to sleep. Remember the ones about me being a big whore and getting railed by 6 12″ sicilian cocks at once? My favorite part, other than the pool of ‘discharge’ all over my hairy vagina and asshole, was playing “name the father” game 9 months later. I love that game only its been over 23 years now with you and we still cant figure it out. I was positive that I didnt fuck the donkey that night but you know how I get when I drink too much vino. Now please come home soon so you to give me a Brazilian wax before my Moorish boyfriends show up.

Everyone keeps praising Spain for playing beautiful, attacking football in Euro 08. Against Italy, their tactics were far from offensive. They concentrated on benign ball posseesion, mostly on their own half of the field, in an effort to keep the ball away from the Italians as much as possible, but did very little true attacking. They never attacked in force for fear of leaving an opening in the defence. In the end, it paid off. Against Germany, the only goal came from a quick counter attack (Italian style)and a terrible mess up in the German defense. Spain was able to get away with attacking football against lesser opponents, but when up against top teams like Italy and Germany, it was their ability to shut down the opponent and then counterattack that won them the cup. The cummulative score between Spain and Italy/Germany after 210 minutes of play was 1-0. This does not reflect attacking football!

As the Italians have known all along, if you want to win, you must first keep the ball out of your own goal. Period!

Sebastian Herzog you are Ledesma is good but not as good as pirlo, anyway Pirlo is 29 he´ll, at least, wc 2010 and since his game is not very physical i think he´ll be the same. As for Pirlo replacement, Cigarini will be his heir and he´s far more talented than Ledesma.
About the Olympic team i think it´s outstanding my only regrets is that Santacroce will no be there since he has 4 matches ban and Balotelli has not receive italian citizienship yet ( only at his 18 )

Oh Bruno, Bruno …

How dull.

When will the likes of you realize that no one in Europe but Italians
like football Italian style.

It’s so simple. Grasp it. It’s not only about winning, anyways not all the time.

You may catch up with Brasil and win the 5th star ( I say you m a y yet you won’t) and still get not much admiration around the world for this type of playing.

It’s, it’s… dunno, it seems to me it’s like cold MAFIA KILLING. No fun for sure.

How dull.

And – in a way strangely un-Italian somehow.

…and even if that was true (which is not), who the fuck care if anyone outside of italy does not ‘admire’ the way italy plays? again, even if it was true, i’m not sure anyone would rather put on a show at the expense of winning a major trophy. ask man united about it during their latest cl campaign. results came from a tactically calculated approach to the game, not by run-and-gun offence. you think they care if you were entertained along the way to their cl trophy?

also why are you insisting on being so pathetic by assuming these different usernames? we already know you have limited, if any, football knowledge arminius / beethoven / germania.

White is right god damn, i can’t believe you are still going on and on about spain winning, its ridiculous, so you finally did something after years of failure. Do you actually think that you can mention yourselves in the same breath as a team like italy. A team with real tradition. A team that hadn’t lost to you guys in 88 years and you finally won but on pk’s, you couldn’t even get it done on the field when our team was at its most vulnerable with its captain injured before the tournament started, Pirlo on the bench due to being disqualified, and an incompatent coach who failed to call good replacements for Pirlo to the team( montolivo 22 years old and Cigarini 21), and a coach who failed to substitute Borriello ( a fine napolitan striker who was in good form) for an obviously not confident Toni. That was a real convincing win lol. Then your fuck ass has the nerve to say that italy has never had a good striker. What about Baggio, Totti, Vieri, inzaghi, Zola, Viali, Signori, and our very own Paolo Rossi who I’m sure you saw light up your country in 1982 to win our 3rd world cup, just to mention a few, i guess they all sucked huh? You say we live in the past, you have no past, or no future for that matter because when Lippi mixes some of our young talent with our WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM every body is fucked including your spanish side. I know u hate to hear it but we are still the WORLD CHAMPS for another 2 years. Even though you are #1 in the fifa world ranking, it won’t be long because we are #2 and when qualifying for the world cup starts and everyone sees our dominate mixture of youngsters with the world cup champs play we will reclaim our rightful spot at the top of the world. And remember when you say that we live in the past when the world cup starts your euro win will be in the past and then what will you have to talk about? Nothing I’ll assure you of that, when Italy holds up its ” 5th WORLD CUP” you’ll still be talking about when spain beat italy in the euros on pk’s. It must really suck to be a nation that has really never won a world cup, I can understand why you would be jealous of a country that has 4 of them. Then you were the one that was bragging about real madrid winning so many champions league’s( but failed to mention that they won most of them before you were born). You also tried to boast about how many spanish league titles they won, thats pretty easy to do in Spain considering there are only 2 good teams ( real madrid and Barcelona). Wait until next year when Napoli makes it to the cl, with our great young talent with the likes of Lavezzi, Hamsik, Gargano, Denis, Maggio, Santacroce and so on. Don’t know those names? don’t worry, you will soon enough. Its gonna be like the days of Maradonna. Even Messi the best player in Spain stated that playing in Italy would be the top of his career. Even he knows that the Serie A is more competative then La Liga. In America we consider Spaniards dirty, like Mexicans. You will always be behind Italy at least as long as you live buddy. Ciao a tutti i italiani e come sempre FORZA NAPOLI.

Enough of this, it´s pointless, all men are equal and about this there´re no doubts. Let´s talk of what´s imporantant and that would be Football.
Does someone have ever heard about this sirigu guy?

Very well said, napoli1.Personally, I like WC more than Euro because WC is greater than Euro and there will be Argentina, my second team after Azzurri, in WC.I like the Albiceleste because they have players of Italian descent ^^. I’m Vietnamese,BTW.
