Weirdest event of the weekend

May 2nd, 2006 | By: Jay | No Comments »

Has to be a tie between Marco Materazzi’s own goal (if you saw it, it was a whopper) and Luigi Di Canio. I’ll lean toward Di Canio. Since he has secured Serie A status for his squad for next season… that can only mean one thing: he’s headed for the door. Maybe he’s being pushed out. Maybe he wants to enjoy the Tuscan countryside. Dunno. But you don’t usually see the manager jump ship from top flight football for no good reason and Di Canio’s reasons were not very good at all. You can sense another of “Jay’s rants about the life expectancy of a Serie A coach” coming, can’t you?
