Totti to return this weekend?
Everything I’d read indicated that he would target the Coppa Italia for his return, but some reporters say differently. Whichever, we’re talking a few days, not weeks. If he can get a couple Serie A matches under his belt and a few minutes in the Coppa Match, we should have a pretty good idea how he’ll be shaping up for Germany. I’m hoping that Lippi uses the training camp wisely to experiment with some different roles in case needs a backup plan, but it will likely be just ‘more Del Piero’. And really, who can argue. The problems haven’t been in the center of the field, the problems have been in back and on the wings.
As Paul noted, we might have an idea of the starting eleven from the way the two teams were stacked in training camp today. The ‘A’ squad won handily. There has been scant news online from the sporting papers, so we’ll have to wait and see if anything worthy comes up.

I hope he doesn’t get off the bench in the first leg of the Coppa. I’m not sure it would be a good idea to get your first senior action coming off an injury like Totti had against an Inter side who is very frustrated right now. Plus, Walter Samuel always scares me. I’ve seen less hacking in a B horror movie. I would much rather him start against Treviso so that he can ease his way back in, and then play in the second leg.

It’s Official, the new world ranking is out for April. Denmark, Nigeria, Turkey have finally been placed above Italy. Italy stepped down 2 places even thoght they have won every match they have played including against Germany and Netherlands.
For May my prediction is That Egypt, Tunisia and Iran will be recognized as better teams than the Azzurri. It is a glorious day for Fifa and Football.
Seriously Blatter, F*** You!
