The Defense Rests, Literally.

February 22nd, 2006 | By: Jay | No Comments »

Juve gives up three goals? Inter gives up two against a team a 20 points adrift of the league leaders? So much for catenaccio in the Champion League. I didn’t see much of the matches but note that Balzaretti started at left back for a make-shift Juventus defense, and both Chiellini and Zambrotta were unavailable. Inter left it late at Ajax, as the saying goes, and one wonders about the wisdom of resigning Francesco Toldo who has been weak at best.

Slightly off topic… thanks to everyone who’s been providing feedback on the blog. I don’t usually get to respond but keep it coming! The site will only get better with “user involvement”.

And how weird is this? Silvio Berlusconi shows up at Totti’s hospital room? I guess we should always remember that Silvio is a politician first, and football team owner second. or third. or fourth. or…whatever. you get my point.
