Smith in for Italy

May 25th, 2006 | By: Jay | 1 Comment »

Walter Smith, Scotland manager (and the former ‘mister’ at Rangers and Everton) is going to root for the Azzurri this summer, and not England, which is sure to endear him to his neighbors to the south.

“I’ll support Italy. I think they always have a capability of doing well, and I always like to see them doing well. I admire their coach, and in any game they go into they are difficult to beat. And besides, did you SEE England v. Belarus? How could you be a fan of that?” (Ok, he didn’t say the last part but he might as well have.)
