One Last Sunday

As you know, before we jump feet first into the excitement of Germany, we’ve got one last bout of games to determine the Scudetto holder and the Champions League spots. Its one of those great Sundays…Serie A on one TV, the Spanish Grand Prix on another. (Forza Scuderia Ferrari!)

While I must admit the odds are very long, I can’t completely rule out Milan overtaking Juve at the death. Why? Aside from Moggi-gate, which is quickly eating up everything in its path (including Gigi Buffon, sadly) it turns out that Reggina isn’t a bad home team. (8 wins, 4 losses, 6 draws for those keeping score at home.) They’ve been consistently decent since February, while Juventus is 3 wins and 5 draws in their last 8.

Milan would appear to have the tougher ticket to punch, matching up against Roma. But Milan almost never loses at the San Siro, Roma had a tough midweek defeat and has some injury issues.

My guess is that Milan will win, Juventus will draw, and that will be enough for their 29th title. Let’s just hope there are no injuries, anywhere, period. And the Azzurri squad will be announced on Monday…so get ready, all you would-be managers! We’ll be breaking down the team position-by-position all week.
