"France struggled against a lower team like Paraguay," they said. On and on it went, and yet France won. Okay, it was on PKs but I was right about who would be victorious. In 2000, again, I said France would win over Italy in the Euro Cup final. This time I said 2-0, as in 1986. I said similar things as I do now about how the Italian players crack under pressure and how their players, outside of club play, have yet to do anything inspirational and or demonstrate that they are championship material. What happened? Italy cracked under pressure. Alright it was a 2-1 win in overtime but it was French win nonetheless. During that game Del Piero had 2 wide open nets no more than a foot in front of him and he missed them both. France comes back and with a mere 30 seconds remiainig in time added, France scores a rather weak goal on Toldo to tie the game.
