Italy-Brazil

No review of the last game because I don’t want to relive it. No preview of the next one because I’m superstitious that the last one jinxed us. We played them in February, they’re fricking Brazil, and everyone knows what to expect.

Just go out there, play with dignity, and make us proud. Forza Azzurri!

Dessena starts, instead of Grosso?

So, the first “match of the tournament” everyone has been waiting for is almost kicking-off (the other being the suspected Brazil-Spain final).

Good luck Italy, I’ll be rooting for you. I like the way you have fought so far, even though it didn’t work out so well against Egypt. I hope you’ll make it and put some doubt in the Brazilian team, they’re getting too confident. :)

But who will stop Spain then? I don’t see Italy doing it yet, allthough, come to think of it, you pretty much stopped them in the EC 08, you just couldn’t win the penalties or create much chances of your own to win it. We’ll see…

Italy’s line is horrendous.

If Toni is playing would that mean a defense/counter strategy? Might be the right choice against such a strong attacking team but will Brazil fall for it and take risks that leave gaps in their defense? They’re in a much better position to play defense/counter.

Not to mention Brazil has been very effective against static defenses with free-kicks and corners.

Media will fry Lippi for this. Hopefully now we will see the changes we have all been crying for.

Please read the following comments by Lippi:
“I hear people talking about renewal and changes, but these are the best players Italy can give La Nazionale,” Lippi explained.
“The other youngsters who have come with us will be introduced, but gradually. The Press can write what they want.
“It is clear that this our project. If I were to have brought six or seven youngsters we would have lost with an experimental national team.
“Just think about what you would have said if that had been the case. ‘Why did we come here with this Italy team?’ That’s what!” Lippi said.
The 61-year-old then tried to protect Rino Gattuso, who has come under fire over the last week.
The Milan midfielder spent much of the season on the sidelines with a serious knee injury and has only just got healthy again.
“I would have brought him here even if he had been 50 per cent fit. He has been fundamental for our growth,” Lippi concluded.
Lippi you should resign after this humilation trip to South Africa for the Confederations Cup.
Lippi you should apologize for Italy, Italians and all the people who love Italy. Italy National Team is at risk now.
Lippi you have an ego problem, and with this type of ego you will destroy Italia image as a powerful football nation.
For crying out loud everyone at South Africa is laughing at us after this disaster and bad performance.
A call to the FIGC “DOOOOOOO SOMETHING”
