So, the first “match of the tournament” everyone has been waiting for is almost kicking-off (the other being the suspected Brazil-Spain final).

Good luck Italy, I’ll be rooting for you. I like the way you have fought so far, even though it didn’t work out so well against Egypt. I hope you’ll make it and put some doubt in the Brazilian team, they’re getting too confident.

But who will stop Spain then? I don’t see Italy doing it yet, allthough, come to think of it, you pretty much stopped them in the EC 08, you just couldn’t win the penalties or create much chances of your own to win it. We’ll see…

Italy’s line is horrendous.

If Toni is playing would that mean a defense/counter strategy? Might be the right choice against such a strong attacking team but will Brazil fall for it and take risks that leave gaps in their defense? They’re in a much better position to play defense/counter.

Not to mention Brazil has been very effective against static defenses with free-kicks and corners.
