…I wasn’t joking about my fondness for the Master. Anyway, there I was, buying some swordfish at the market when this Michele Platini-looking dude comes up to me with these excited eyes and his hand clenched into a fist: “Onleeee one more game!!!”, he says to me. The poor bastard was so excited, it broke my heart for a second, you know, with the jersey on and everything.

The Italian blood flowing through these veins — the same blood that allowed me to share a compassionate moment with the enemy — swiftly grounded me back to planet Azzurri:
“Yeah, just one more game for Zidane. Too bad he’s going to lose, eh? C’est la vie.”

“You think they will lose to Italy?”

“I know they will.” With my intonation, I think Michele realized that I was no France supporter.

But really, there are no platitudes or niceties to exchange at this point. “Good luck to both teams” my A$$.
You can’t support the Azzurri and then wish France well! I wish Barthez well when he takes Zambrotta’s 70 m.p.h. blast on the neize…. Sorry, but we’re too close to lifting the cup, which is of colossal significance.

My heart might race on Sunday, as it did against Germany, but I won’t waver in my confident belief in gli azzurri. We are going to win.

Zidane is over rated. He did nothing in this world cup except in a few games. Italy should have won in regular time but Toni’s goal was called offisde even though he wasn’t offisde. It was similar to Argentina’s 2nd goal against Ivory Coast where the scorer was onside and the offisde player was passive and a non-factor. France were lucky to get it into ectra time. Zidane is considered 1 of the best players of his era. Alright, he may be but he comes from an era of rather mediocre players. In the end, Zidane’s dismissal meant nothing as Trezeguet still would have gotten a PK and missed. It’s obvious people are hating Materazzi because he is Italian and Zidane is supposedly a star, and people hate Italy and are try to cheapen and degrade its victory because they are jealous of Italy’s success.

Ive seen the video’s of italys players, and I have to say, they dont look like theyve learned anything from WW2, they are still the backstabing, cheating, honorless, cowards they always were. If I was in Italy, Id shoot Materzari for shaming Italy and soccer as a whole.

But thats saying to much for the italians, the facist pukes fell in with hitler in WW2 and they show that they do anything to win, even if it makes the world puke when they try to get “italy” out of their mouths.

France played as best they could. But the better team won that memorable night. So for all French fans stop dissing Italy. Zidane had a great game. Insults are part of the game. Look up on what the Danish player had said to Totti in the 2002 Euro. Totti was rightfully suspended but what about the other guy who uttered the insult? Nothing happend to him. Think about it. Zidane played his best soccer in that tournament. Its in the books, you can never change it, Italy won France lost move on and get over it. Forza Italia
