Finally, all the gears are working.

An absolute oustanding effort today. Not much to complain about, and even if there is, I’m not going to get into it now. It’s time to enjoy this one for the day and wait for the titanic battle with Deutschland on Tuesday.

Brazil Rules | July 1st, 2006 at 3:34 am

A little reminder to all you Gino’s….your beloved Azzuri haven’t beat anybody yet!

1 - you beat ghana 2-0…congrats (Brazil beat them 3-0)

2 - you tied the excited states despite having a man advantage for a whole half (congrats again)

3 - you beat an old and injured Czech team…they were very overrated to begin with (they should have never been ranked #2)

4 - you killed Australia 1-0 on a penalty in the 95′ after one of your useless players took a dive (yet another honest win…)

5 - now you beat Ukraine (a team with tons of World Cup history) 3-0 and you are bragging! I can beat Ukraine 3-0!

So before you grease balls start throwing a World Cup victory celebration covered in penne, please realize that you haven’t played a single good team yet in a meaningful game…

Germany 2 - Italia 0

Just face it, Brazil will win again and you will be three titles away from them.

The Azzuri Suck!!!
——-

@ Brazil Rules

1 - You were lucky to beat Croatia, and u know it. The magic quartet? I only saw Kaka that day.

2 - Against the Aussies, the ref was Braziliian. Nuff said.

3 - Ooooh. Wow you’ll beat mighty Japan! U guys surely must be favourites now.

4- Two offside goals against an Essien-less Ghana. And u were lucky not to concede even one.

All the best against France tonight. U’ll need all the luck and another star-struck ref to win today…

Do you lot kiss your wives, mothers and children with your disgusting toilet mouths. Shows the level of intelligence, and literacy, amoungst the Italian fans, when all you can do is resort to the lowest level of foul language. You aught to be ashamed of yourselves, but Italians have no shame, just like your cheating, diving, corrupt footballers.

Ciao

Ragazzi, we played well for large parts of the match. In fact, I don’t so much think that we played better than before, only that before we could never finish up front. With a bit of finishing, we would have looked excellent in many of those earlier games. Totti seemed to be back to his creative self at times, though we were a bit careless with the ball in the attacking third. I thought that Perrotta looked weak throughout the game and though I wouldn’t replace him with Del Piero for the game against Germany, I do hope that he regains some form and soon!

Let’s hope that Nesta can come back soon. Though Barzagli played well, the defence was not as well organised without Nesta. We’ll need him against the likes of Germany and Brazil.

By the way, anyone arguing that Italy has been helped out by foul calls over the past few world cups simply hasn’t been watching. South Korea 2002??? Ukraine was an incredibly physical team, and hence the differential in foul calls. There were a few, but very few foul calls against Ukraine that I wouldn’t have given, and some, including the foul on Camoranesi in the box, that I would have. Anyone who calls that a dive just simply doesn’t know the rules.

Italy, you have no chance against Germany. Why? Because Klinsmann has consulted Maestro Moggi on how to deal with the ref :-)

Hey Josh, I was speaking to Antonio when I wrote “Hey Antonio Gattuso was fifa’s man of the match”. I forgot the comma. LOL. Antonio and I both agree that Gattuso plays with all his heart every time. I am pumped. Can you imagine beating Germany in their own back yard? Forza Italia.

As I predicted, France maintains their mastery over Brazil, although I did think that Spain was the best among the three.Italy finally played their first good game and Totti appears to be rounding into form. All of our forwards have scored, except for Methuselah Del Piero.Italy has the same mastery over Germany that France has over Brazil.I think France spent all of their ammunition on Brazil, with kudos to Zidaine for a superlative game. It`ll be Italy vs. Portugal in the Final!Forza,Italia!Steve D

* you are an absolute CUNT, just like your fellow brits who
ALWAYS CHOKE in a big game.
The uk will be an islamic
republic in less than 50 years
because you don’t have the balls
to put, all of the radical
mooslems that you so stupidly
let in, in their place. What you say is just sour grapes and jealousy because anyone that
understands football knows that
Italy is totally superior to England in football and of course Serie A is totally superior to the english premier
league. Perhaps if you field an
all african team like the frogs
you might have a chance to win something.

Why do we have to discuss about the dives and the fouls? Some idiot posted somewhere in this thread that Italy cheated b/c they had less fouls called against, when playing Ukraine. So, isnt that a possibility?? Does Italy needs to have more fouls than the other team for the game to be fair? Lets remember that Materazzi has 1 foul in the whole cup, a normal, maybe yellow card foul, for which he got a red.
I cant believe people still complain about the Australia game. Even the coach said: ”We got favored with the unexistant red card, didnt take advantage of it, then Italy got favored with an unexistant penalty and took advantage of it” Thats it. Sometimes you get a bad call to favor your side. We got plenty of bad calls against us last WC, no one seemed to complain/care about it.

-Against Croatia one goal wrongly disallowed
-Against Korea Totti wrongly dismissed, when it should have been a penalty. Another penalty denied, a penalty called against (which buffon saved), a goal dissallowed.

That you can call cheating!
Here we got an unfair red card, and then were favored with a penalty. Balanced. And none of that ‘last minute’ crap. A bad call is a bad call anytime! Add drama to it by saying it was last minute, and then complain about italians being dramatic…

Italy has less fols because they foul less. They are the least penalized in the entire tournament. That is because they play with skill, elegance, panache and style. Anyone who has watched their game for the past fifty years like I have would know that. When teams play against Italy they know they have to rough them up in order to have a chance, so they play some sort of hybrid soccer/rugby.

Hello everyone,

I’ve come back from the dead to tell all you anti-Italian that your points are well taken. How on earth can Italy be given any credit when after all, they only bet the high-flying Ghanese 2-0, the 2nd-ranked Checkoslovakia 2-0, Ukraine 3-0, and the mighty Germans 2-0, not to mention that they never conceded a goal except for the one they scored on their own net.

I even wonder how on earth do people all over the world love Italy’s food, fashion and sports cars - I made some pretty shitty sports cars when I was alive, don’t you think?

Oh, and how can these history books even dare to suggest that Rome and Italy civilized half of an entire planet with their western laws, architecture, roads and wealth. How on earth did half of the English dictionary come to be based on Latin … hmmmm … quite strange. Who cares about the likes of Leonardo Da Vinci and Galileo Galilei?

And Christopher Columbus, Amerigo Vespucci (for whom North and South America was named after), and Giovanni Cabotto (John Cabott to you English patsies) might have been Italian, but who cares that they discovered America.

As for the world cup, Italy hasn’t proven a thing by making it all the way to the final. Hopefully they don’t win on Sunday, so that all you anti-Italian can say, “I told you so”.

I agree with you guys - Italy, what a waste of a country.

Forza Italia!

I almost with there was something worse than a redcard.

The Italians undoubtably have tremendous skill on both the national and international level. The behavior of many italian players and fans however leaves a lot to be desired. Italy and italian football has a well deserved reputation for bad spormanship, corruption, and racism.

The elbow to the face of the american team captain was disgraceful, the excessive diving undignified, and the targeting for fouls and baiting of key players from the opposing team should be considered intolerable to all reasonable fans of the game.

Materazzi should be suspended for his involvment in the “headbutt” debacle, and should the allegation of corruption in serie A prove true italy should be stripped of the world cup title.

Fifa needs to crack down hard on the kind of dity unsportsman-like conduct that has sadly become the hallmark of the italians among others.

Sasa, you obviously don’t know very much about the facts of Italian soccer and Italian soccer players. I will consider you comments to be opinion rather than facts.

Cheers
