e Basta!

And that’s enough! Vieri is out, for sure. And for as much as we’ve moaned about him lately, remember that he fought hard for club and country for many a year. “Tritolo” was a wonderful striker in his day. Let’s hope he hangs it up before it becomes a circus.

You’re right, as much as all of us whined and complained about the possibility that Lippi might have taken Vieri, for a long time he was the only consistently dangerous Italian forward for club and country. Nine World Cup goals is nothing to scoff at. I’d like to see him put out to pasture in the MLS here in the states.

still a pop icon in italy, and at one time, one of the best strikers in the world. But ya he needs to call it a day, move to america, sell Sweet Years there, make more millions, do the MLS things and then retire.

\great player at one time, but should never have been considered for the WC

Indeed, Vieri was great in France ‘98. Really reminds you of a fit Luca Toni… Oh wait a minute….

Seriously, Vieri was a great striker even in Japorea ‘02. At the same time (or at least the last game), however, he missed a crucial sitter against S. Korea and both his national and domestic playing has suffered ever since. Still, his heart, attitude and prior achievements must be respected. Thanks Bo-Bo.

On a lighter note, thank god he won’t be going to this world cup. I can’t bear to relive those countless moments of “free header… there’s Vieri!!! … over the bar!!!!!” from Euro ‘04. And that was against Denmark and Sweden for god’s sake. Give me a freakin’ break.

Still, I’d pay hard earned american dollars to see him play stateside.

I would like to say that the 2002 would cup was riged and some koreand went to jail for match fixing .. so you cant blame vieri for that really .. seconmdly Vieri still has the ability to be the best (unlike Del piero, who has actuly done not bad this yr) the only thing lacking from vieri was confidence, which i think he has re gained at monaco .. i mean at the begining of this season for milan he was still creating lots of chances in the little time he got on the pitch, just couldnt finish them though .. im not sure if i would have taken him to this world cup due to the fact that italy has so many good ones at the moment

Vieri at one point was the best stricker in the world and he was and he still my best player. the player i loved the most all my life. i can’t find someone else to love. but i think he should retire now to keep the nice history he made.
