Crappy Lookalikes, Part 3
After all the discussion on Lippi, tactics, and players, I thought it’d be nice if we took a break from arguing and got back to some fun.
You guys know the drill by now. I have way too much time on my hands, and match up soccer players with their celebrity counterparts. I think of all these on my own (No I don’t get them from other sites, with the exception noted below) so be nice in the comments if two celebrities don’t match up perfectly, ok? You might hurt my feelings. And since I’m running out of Serie A players to match up, this one includes some foreigners.
John Turturro

Marco Materazzi

This one has been stuck in my head for a while, but I just couldn’t figure out who Materazzi looked like. I was thinking about Anger Management the other day and finally made the connection.
Michael Ballack

And Matt Damon

This one is probably more obvious but still, the resemblance is pretty uncanny.
Or how ’bout Jeff Goldblum

And Kakha Kaladze

Mostly the hair, yes, but very similar noses and facial structures as well.
Regular reader Jessica sent me a fantabulous amount of lookalikes. Here’s a couple- expect to see the rest in the next edition:
Willem Defoe

Taddei

This one is spot on.
Andddd… Cafu

The main singer from the Fine Young Cannibals (the one in the middle)

Side note: Inter are a great team for celebrity lookalikes. Materazzi, Julio Cesar, Maxwell… you could almost make a starting 11 of celebrity wannabes from Milan alone.

Macheda did it again, the kid is the truth most promising italian youngster only 17

Macheda’s done good so far but that second goal still seemed like dumb luck to me. Despite his claim, I doubt he did that intentionally.

Adrian Mutu and Trevor Immelman (South African golfer).

Julian-
Think we can maybe get an article on young italian stars being poached by english clubs who can offer them contracts at a younger age? this seems to be an issue, its how we lost Rossi, Macheda, Petrucci, and others.

maldini and yzerman look nothin alike

hence the term “crappy”
Frey & David van Day, that one made me laugh

ilcapitano- Good idea. I’ve been looking into the issue since Macheda exploded onto the scene, and from what I can gather I think it’s illegal for Italian clubs to offer pro contracts to players under 18, while its legal in England for some reason. But I’ll go more in depth into it.
