Buffon injury worse than we thought?

April 23rd, 2006 | By: Jay | 5 Comments »

I didn’t make much of Buffon sitting out yesterday, but apparently his shoulder is acting up yet again. This doesn’t bode well, obviously and one wonders if he came back to soon. At any rate, our discussion of backup keepers may get more heated.

On another note, Cassano was completely ineffective today for Real, and this was against a Malaga side that is sure to be relegated. Of course its hard to come off the bench and be expected to catch fire, but that’s the task he’s been put up to with mediocre results. At the end of the day, you’re judged by your output. Well, unless your name is Vieiri (cough).

[...] Australia is not alone when it comes to injury worries. Italy’s keeper Gianluigi Buffon is not feeling so good these days, while Brazil’s players are all suffering from a Champions League virus of sorts. [...]

Who would be No. 2 behind Buffon? If he doesn´t make it to Germany it would be great loss for Italy imo.

They definetly should get Toldo as GK is bufffon is out … but i mean Abiati is such a bad Gk and yet italy still proved that with him, they were still capable of playing the best soccer in the world right now.

Yeah, I would definatly say Toldo. Abbiati didn’t do too great against Lazio.
