Another nail biter?
Aside from the fluke Saudi result, Ukraine has found it very hard to score goals and as match day draws closer I’m convinced their struggles will continue on Friday. That said, the Azzurri have not exactly been lighting up the net. So I’m preparing for another nail biter.
If Italy can keep the long haired wonder (Tymoschuk?) from getting comfortable in the midfield, the Ukraine may find themselves reduced to thumping long balls down field and Italy will clean up. Keep that in mind as you’re watching play develop tomorrow.
Keep the faith, non mollare mai (don’t ever give up!) as the saying goes.

There’s 11 italians on the pitch and their all standing. I’d check their hertiage. No way are they Italian.

Paul, thanks for your contributions. Unfortunately, the sheer AMOUNT of editing it is taking to get rid of the comments and name calling is more than I / we can manage.

Well, the only, only, only thing I hope for now is that Italy will beat the snooty, self-righteous Germans that shouldn´t beat any of the big fotball countries without having home arena + a biased referee

Didn’t you do well. Enjoy your pasta, suck it up. Germany next. Italy (4) Germany (3) semi-final 1970. You are going to get annihilated, so make the most it while it lasts. You’ll brag and call yourself a football superpower. You’ll always be f**king cheats in the eyes of the rest of the footballing world.

* I soundly agree!
The Italy team is good, I wish they would stop with their faking. It’s making the stereotype of football being for pussies true!
Tell your players they don’t need to act, because they have enough skill!
My girlfriend who knows nothing about football was watching the game, and even she said, “why are they always lying on the ground then when the whistle blows they get up?”

Jono, lying on the ground faking and looking for a penalty when they are already two nil up, for f**ks sake. About FIFA banned Italy from the international scene until they learn to stop p*ssing about with the noble game. Italians have ruined football.
Italians, give it your best shot. You’ll slag the English off and the British because this is posted from the UK. UK four countries and extremely multicutural.

germany not a big football country!? I don’t like them much but that is a really stupid thing to imply. They’ve won the world cup more than anyone except Brazil.
Great win for Italy, but Ukraine were clearly the weakest team left so it doesn’t mean so much. Germany will be VERY different.

And I suppose Argentinians and Germans weren’t going down at every opportunity today? Or England haven’t done it too? Everyone’s doing it. Just the way the game is these days.

Congratulations to Italy – not a great performance because Ukraine wasn’t that much of an opposition. Still Italy should defeat Germany who, up to this stage, have been ordinary, are ordinary, whose opponents have been weak. Italy will be Germany’s first true test in this WC. Let’s all hope it’s a repeat of the last match between the two Italy 4-1 Germany. I say this because I consider the German style of play as boring as watching grass grow.

This is funny that the Aussie supports who have been going on & on & on & on about ball possession in the Aussie v italy game. Yet again & again Ukraine had more possession than italy & they got wolloped 3-0. To all you english/australian uneducated “followers” that would be 8-0 to you. Stop ya STUPID STUPID bad mouthing the Italians it aint our fault your not one of us, but then again ask ya mamma you just might be!there are plenty that are that dont know it.

Raggazzi,
Questa storia si ripetta ogni 4 anni, L’Italia ci da sempre da soffrire per la vittoria.
For now I am pleased that they have come this far and exorcised some of the old demons. Lets hope we can provide a stand up performance agaisnt the Germans nothing less will do.
Forza Azzuri
Now If only Avellino can get back to Seria B…LOL
