A few notes from camp
Lippi does occasionally make sense:
“The reason behind my calling so many players is to make the players aware that they are part of a project that does not stop at the World Cup, even for those players who will not participate. I wanted all the players to feel rewarded and, above all, I want them to have the feeling that they belong to this project that we began two years ago. Those not taking part in the World Cup must be proud to have been a part of this group”.

lippi is a genius, next to zoff and countless other great names he’s the best thing that happened to the Italian squad coach wise, he’s going to make the largest difference in the WC, not so much the players. and as for Trapattoni, moron. for his decisions and for whatever motivated him to do them. and if it wasn’t for Berlusconi Zoff would still be head coach, and we could’ve avoided all that mayhem and disaster that followed the inaugeration of Trapatoni as head coach.
long story short, were in very good hands with Lippi

i’d rather have your namesake coaching us, fabio.
look at sven– did you see what he did today? he took a gamble on a couple of players. no gambling with lippi, only favoritism and secure decisions…. i hope to christ i’m wrong about lippi. but you have to go outside the box to win the world cup. man, i hope i’m wrong.
ANYONE GET THE NEW JERSEY YET??

i think u will be proved wrong, josh. I’m pretty sure that with rooney out and owen not in the best of form, sven’s gamble will not payoff. And look at th results we/ve had under lippi, thrashing holland and germany.
bottomline: we ARE in safe hands. And even if italy do faail to live up to expectations, i doubt lippi will be fired.
