So long as Italy qualifies for the latter, all other games and championships are of secondary concern. European Cup doesn't have the prestige of the World Cup, and most of the former's winners haven't done well in the World Cup following the Euro Cup. In fact, 2 of the last 4 winners failed to qualify and 1 that qualified, France, failed to score a goal or get past the first round. Doesn’t matter what happens with Italy from now until the next world cup, Italy because they’re still world cup champions. So long as Italy qualifies for the latter, all other games and championships are of secondary concern. They must be quaking in their shoes, after all Italy so thoroughly outplayed them in their last couple of matches. I'm really looking forward to the hits in September, like Cannavaro smacking Henry in the head in the opening minutes of the final and Zidane in OT, Zambrotta ditto on Vieira, etc. And oh, let's hope Maestro Marco can display his magnificent touches on opponents bodies. you’re so right — “les bleus won’t know what hit them”. I think people have been over criticizing donadoni, like when they 'only' beat faroe 2-1. Italy is, most of the time, as big as the challenge. So if they face a small challenge they probably will play bad and slack up. They will be ready for the big challenge with france in september... I also happened to catch the France-Georgia game..boring...For a team that basically held the ball for the entire game they sure suck at scoring...1-0?? But I digress, hopefully we see a good game between these two soccer powerhouses in September, should be a spectacle..This time they're coming to our house.
