ADP definitely deserves to go, but does not fit at all in Donadoni's system. The only way he'll play is if they play 2 up front and he/Cassano partners Toni. Borriello has not impressed one bit in an Italy jersey so ADP as a direct replacement for Toni might work as well if he has someone partnering him. Although I suggest Toni plays every minute of every game we need him in.

I think the front line speaks for itself to be honest. Di Natale, Toni, Camoranesi. Can you see it any other way? The midfield is the question where Pirlo and DDR are given. The question remains who to choose between Gattusso and Ambrosini and I choose the latter because Gattusso offers nothing going forward.

Also the full backs is an interesting position. Do you go with Grosso and Zambrotta, Chiellini and Zambrotta or Zambrotta and Panucci? CB is a question of will Materazzi be replaced and I think Chiellini should replace him in the center.

I'm pretty sure Iaquinta would have been called, had it not been for the injury. He's just too versatile, and has exactly the kind of skills Don wants for this attack - namely speed and concreteness.

Chris' words on ADP should be gospel. I don't understand all the craze around him since the exact same (not similar, the EXACT same) things were said about him before 1998, 2000, 2002, 2004 and 2006. In all cases, he performed between mediocre and absolutely abysmal. I don't expect him to suddenly reverse this trend, especially now that the tactical set-up seems man-made to cut him off.

Personally, I just hope he stays on the bench for every game.

I don't know. When he decided on Cassano I'm convinced it was done long ago - like right after the Spain friendly - and I'm not sure Iaquinta could push his way in over a definite Cassano, injury or not. They're just not on the same planet. Best case scenario is ADP doesn't have the season he had, unfortunately, because Vincenzo fits The Don's tactics much better.

Actually, I'm not sure how ADP fits in at all. I'm still not sure how ADP is going to play at all. It'll take about 7 minutes, again, to realize he's useless on the wing.

This probably wouldn't be funny to you, but it'd be hilarious if they go to camp, ADP just does not fit in whatsoever and he becomes the 24th man. After all the speculation in the press and calls for his inclusion? Pure madness.

I'm disappointed Iaquinta isn't going also. He's probably the closest Italy has for deputizing for Toni. Combination of injuries...and incredible form by T-Rez and ADP kept him out. You think the Don would have called him up if he wasn't injured?
